Likely closed for the season. The owners say the park usually shuts for winter from roughly November 1 to February 15, so expect it to be closed on November 4, 2026. Call before going. [2]

Krause Springs is privately owned, not a state or city park. Day visitors pay cash at the gate: $11 for ages 12 and up, $6 for ages 4 to 11, free under 4. It has a spring-fed manmade pool and a natural pool below, and it is roughly 30 miles west of Austin.

What to expect

Unlike the county and state sites nearby, Krause is run by a family and sets its own rules. Parking is free, but you need cash for the gate, and a strict no-glass policy is enforced by searching coolers. Campers can stay overnight, and the price table also lists RV spots.

The springs feed two areas: a built pool near the top and a natural pool downstream. Staff clean the upper pool weekly on Thursday evening, so it may be drained or roped off then.

Because ride apps will not collect you at the end of the day. For public options in the same drive radius see Austin and the Devil's Waterhole page.
