Texas side or Oklahoma side

From Dallas the quickest beach is usually Eisenhower State Park near Denison, a TPWD park with its own fee and hours; it lets you swim along the shoreline. The Corps beaches at Burns Run are across the line in Oklahoma and use the federal per-car charge.

Algae on Texoma

TPWD's fishing page for Texoma [8] warns that blue-green algae blooms happen from time to time and tells visitors to check Corps advisories before swimming. The same TPWD page describes Texoma as a Red River impoundment of about 74,686 acres with a maximum depth near 100 feet, with zebra mussels present, so clean, drain and dry any boat or float before moving to another lake.
